Free short and teardown terms

Last updated October 21, 2026 · Version 2026-10-21

These terms cover the free short and the free teardown offered by Content Octopus, run by Georgije Stanisic (“we”, “us”). They’re written to be read. If anything is unclear, email georgije@contentocto.com.

1. The offer

We make one finished short-form edit from one long-form video you send us. It’s a vertical video file (normally 1080×1920 MP4) with captions and a suggested title, for you to post yourself.

It’s free. There’s no payment, no card, no subscription and no obligation to buy anything afterwards. Nothing renews or starts automatically.

2. Who can request

  • You must be the creator of the video or authorised to act for them (for example, their team or management).
  • One free short per creator or channel, unless we agree otherwise in writing.
  • We review every request and may decline one, for example if the video isn’t suited to short clips, relies mostly on footage or music owned by others, or we don’t have capacity. If we decline, we’ll tell you.

3. Your content and permission

By sending a request you confirm that you own the video, or have the rights and permissions needed for us to edit it, including for anyone who appears in it and any third-party material in it.

You give us a limited, non-exclusive permission to download, copy and edit the video only to make and deliver your short (or your teardown) and to talk with you about them. You keep all rights you have in your source content.

4. The edits you receive

Once delivered, you may use the edit however you like, within the rights you hold in the underlying content. We don’t add watermarks.

We won’t show your content publicly (on this site, social media or anywhere else) without your separate, explicit permission. Requesting a free short or a teardown never grants that permission, and giving a testimonial is never required.

5. Timing

After reviewing your request we’ll email you to confirm it’s a fit. We then deliver your shortwithin 48 hours of that confirmation, or of receiving a usable copy of your video if you send the file separately, whichever is later. If something outside our control prevents that (for example, the video becomes unavailable), we’ll tell you promptly and agree a new date or a replacement video.

The free teardown

If you request a teardown, we watch the video you link to and send you a written review by emailwithin 48 hours: what the first 3 seconds do, where viewers likely drop off, the captions and framing, and 3 specific fixes. It’s free, needs no call, and doesn’t commit you to anything. It’s our honest opinion, not a guarantee of results. We may decline a request (for example, a link we can’t open) and will tell you if we do.

6. Corrections

If something is wrong in an edit, such as a misspelled name, a caption error or a cut in the wrong place, tell us and we’ll fix it. We’re happy to hear what you’d like done differently, but the free sample doesn’t include unlimited creative revisions.

7. What we don’t promise

  • We don’t guarantee views, followers, reach or any other result from posting the short or acting on a teardown.
  • We don’t post to your accounts, and each platform’s requirements and policies may change. You decide what to publish and are responsible for complying with those platforms’ rules.
  • We take care over accuracy, but please review each edit before posting. The sample is provided as is, to the extent the law allows.

8. Your details

How we handle your information is explained in our privacy notice.

9. Changes

We may update these terms. The version you agreed to is recorded with your request, and changes won’t apply retroactively to a request we’ve already accepted.
